Bun In The Oven pt.1

Written by Shelby Satcher

On June 6th 2020 I took a pregnancy test and it was POSITIVE! Ever since then I have been on this crazy rollercoaster of pregnancy life. Here is what I went thru in the first trimester:

So in the very beginning I didn’t feel any different. I only took the test because I was bored. I felt so much the same that I almost didn’t believe I was actually carrying a baby in me.
Once I hit about 6 1/2 weeks I started to feel the symptoms…
-Nausea
-Fatigue
-Irritability
-Cramps
The symptoms definitely made me believe that I was, in fact, pregnant. As the weeks went on, the symptoms started to get more intense and I was borderline miserable.
I went for an ultrasound and they found a big blood sack in my uterus next to baby. This is called a “Subchorionic Hematoma” and while it can be very dangerous, are very common. Due to this new “friend” I had to follow some restrictions to ensure my tiny alien’s safety. The restrictions were: NO lifting, NO sex, and NO exercise.
GREEEAAAATTTT…. I had these restrictions for about 2 months before my hematoma finally was no longer a threat.
Fast forward to about 11 weeks. I started to see a little bump!! (not sure if this was a human baby or just a food baby) This was exciting but also annoying because that meant I was beginning to enter the awkward belly phase of pregnancy. you know, the phase where you have a belly but its not obvious you’re pregnant so it just looks like you need to lay off the cheetos… yeah that one. Currently I am 17 weeks so my bump is more obvious that I am carrying a life but still not a full pregnant belly.
The only fun part of the first trimester for me were my cravings and the excuse to eat how I want when I want. WAHOOOOO! Thus far my cravings weren’t very crazy. Just the basics like sweets and cheese LOL If you know me, craving cheese or anything with cheese isn’t unusual, what is unusual is that I was craving sweets. I NEVER eat sweets on my own and even when there is an occasion for them I have to really want it. Now, I have ice cream and candy bars on hand at ALL times. WHO AM I??

Well now I am fresh in my second trimester and when I have more to tell I will update my blog with the newest ups and downs on this rollercoaster.
